Ao Oni

Just finished!
Interesting, but I didn't find it very intense. Honestly, I found it a touch on the generic side, but loads of people seem to love it.

Dark Cloud

I finally finished Dark Cloud!
I love the soundtrack, the town building, I enjoyed the dungeon crawling and weapon building. The fishing minigame isn't too bad, and the graphics are pretty good, the 3d overall and small amounts of stylized 2d really work for me.
The translation could use some work, though the simple storyline and characters kept me nicely engaged.
While linear, I would replay it, as I greatly enjoyed it overall.

Games. . .

I've not finished any games yet, but I guesstimate that I am about half way through Dragon Quest VII, and am also partway through Chrono Cross, I also recently bought Kya, the Dark Lineage, so I am definitely halfway through that.
I'm probably playing too many games. . .

So my keyboard died, which sucked.
So I've been playing playstation 2 games, a little Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry and Dragon Quest VII.
But now, a new keyboard! I can type again!
The on screen keyboard is functional, but a bit awkward.

Games I've played/been plaing

Earthbound, Mother 3(!!!!e!!!!!) and The Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap.

I love love love Earthbound (Mother 2). Fun and funny and dark and quirky. . .
I also love Mother 3, I am also never playing it again. This game. . . I sobbed, cryed like a baby at the final battle/scenes.
Minish cap I've played before, and I needed something that would not make me cry.

N64 The Legend of Zelda games

I just beat them again.
So much fun!
Though Majora's Mask still makes me sob like a baby.
Alright, to me, Zelda and Link are long lost siblings.
Also, I cannot, for the life of me, believe that Zelda and Sheik are the same person, it's like, she sheds her 'disguise' and suddenly becomes wimpy? Wait what?
I have a whoooole bunch of personal theories about these games I'll one day post, to explain it.

Saturday, March 5, 2016

So, what have I been doing instead of posting here and updating the placeholder posts already up?
Gaming of course!
Well, not just gaming, but mostly.
I've been on a bit of a Zelda kick lately.
I have replayed Twilight Princess, (so fun!) and today I started Skyward Sword (!!!!!), which I am enjoying greatly, still have to get used to the controls.
I'll most likely be writing a proper review for the Zelda games I've completed, but first to play them all again!
What do you think of the Zelda series? Do you have a favorite? Which one is your least favored? How many have you played?

Confession Time

I. . . am playing neopets.
Yes, that kids virtual pet and games site.
It's fun, no shame really.
I also play Kingdom of Loathing, too.

The Legend of Zelda

Who else love this series? I adore it, I've played a fair few of them, and I love to replay them.
I've yet to beat the first two, though I have beat all the gameboy ones (awakening, seasons, ages, minish), the snes one, the n64 ones and twilight princess.
I've heard about the Phillip's CDi games, but I have yet to play them. . . has anyone ever actually played them or are they only a game urban legend?
My favorite is Majora's Mask.
Which ones have you beaten and which is your favorite?

1 900 Gary

                                                                   1 900 Gary

Made in RpgMaker VXAce
A comedy horror adventure exploration type game.
9 endings

I did not find this scary at all, but I did get a chuckle out of it.
Once you get all the endings, there really isn't any replay value.
Luckily, it is a short and easy game.
Just remember to save immediately after the opening scenes.

\/Call Gary\/

Games I'm currently playing

Not indie games. . .

I beat Act Raiser yesterday and am now switching between Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: the Minish Cap and Chrono Trigger.

All games I've beat before, but I really love them and wanted to replay.
Look for the review posts for them soon!
Would any of the non-existent (please come and visit) visitors like links to play through videos and/or walkthroughs for the games posted?

KindergarTen series -placeholder-

5 games

Eh, I played and explored and found the series so far lacking, I've played through the first three, and felt. . . disappointed. I kept expecting more and never getting it.
I doubt I'll finish it.

The Victim -placeholder-

1 ending

Short, buggy, flawed.
It could have been better, but it's easy to play.

Boy Ichiro's Modesty -placeholder-

2 endings

A good game, classic, good atmosphere and simple graphics.

The Room -placeholder-

Several endings

This game. . . I found it a mess, to much text that you can't skip, often too dark or blurry to navigate. . . It was trying for atmosphere and just kept missing. Short.

The Longing Ribbon -placeholder-

1 endings

I played this after playing Backstage, it has a good atmosphere, some nice exploration. I do wish the dialogue choices actually mattered, it had some pretty funny bits.

The Basement -placeholder-

1 ending

Simple exploration based game with jump scares.
It was ok, a bit on the cliche side.

I felt for everyone involved,  a very good game.

I love love love this game too, it has a different feel then the first one. A dark, mysterious feel to start, exploration and puzzles. I love the characters and storyline.
I think Uri is really good at creating sympathetic characters.

Good game, good puzzles, good atmosphere.

Nightmare of the Snow -placeholder-

7 endings

A lovely long game, very good atmosphere. Interesting storyline, good characters.
Some of the dialogue choices urked me a bit, but that is ignorable.
A very engrossing game.

Backstage series -placeholder-

3 endings

A great game and the very first horror rpg game I ever played, though I didn't beat it until waaaaay later. Dark, great atmosphere, I really enjoyed this game. Though it does have its flaws.

2 playable characters

Even better then the first game, though sadly still a demo.

4 hour game

Amazingly well done for just 4 hours! super short.

Paranoiac -placeholder-

2 endings

Good atmosphere, didn't care for the chasing/hiding bits, but the exploration and story bits are good.
The tiny sprites felt out of place in the giant homes, dark concept.

Return -placeholder-

2 endings

Short, simple, flawed, light on story. It does have some custom art. . . that isn't very good.

Monday, January 18, 2016

Misao -placeholder-

2 endings

Dark game with interesting characters and storyline. Good puzzles, dark atmosphere.

Raef -placeholder-

An interesting concept, but could use more work. Light on story, simple story, short game.

I played it and kept expecting more, it felt very lacking to me. Short game, nothing to hard.

The Sound of Flames -placeholder-

Several Endings

Audio and choices, only a couple of images.
Oh my, the audio! The gamemaker did all the voice acting and the emotion! I cried.
This game is hard to play, but worth it.

Mermaid Swamp -placeholder-

4 endings

Interesting game with a nice atmosphere, the characters were different then the type I usually experience in these types of games.
A very interesting story line too.

Thursday, January 14, 2016

Kravenhurst Asylum -placeholder-

Dark and disturbing, lots of exploration, sometimes a little tedious, a few bugs but an interesting game to play.

One Night Series -placeholder-

4 endings

A pretty good game, jump scares and wandering enemies though. Good atmosphere and puzzles.

4 endings
My favorite of the series. Extremely well done. Well timed scares, good atmosphere, story and characters are minimal, just enough to drive the game. Everything works really well together.

2 endings
A very nice conclusion, your choices matter, closer to 1 than 2 in feeling, but very nice.

Cancelled Demo, I thought it was pretty good and would have like to have played the full game.
Good atmosphere and puzzles, more of a side game to the series.
Exploration themed, too short.

Mayohiga -placeholder-

4? I think

A nice game, exploration is key here, I'm not familiar with the mythology, but it's different from what I usually encounter.
Pretty good.

Makoto Mobius -placeholder-

7 endings

Pretty dark, mostly exploration game.
Hard to describe really, short and easy to play.

Living Playground -placeholder-

4 endings

Oh my, so adorable. I loved the story and characters, the puzzles were good, atmosphere worked for the game. It's quirky and cute.
Worth a play.

Desert Nightmare -placeholder-

1 ending

I love this game, it is very well done, simple puzzles, custom graphic, dark and well done.
It reminded me of some horror movies, the Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Few bugs, interesting character and storyline.

Lingering Forsaken -placeholder-

1 ending

One of the earliest horror type games I ever played, more of a ghost story than anything.
Nice puzzles, atmosphere fits the story style.
Not a bad game, a quick play.
